PaydayTop is not a lender, a loan broker or a lead generator. We don't make loans, collect applications or pass your details to anyone. We write about short-term borrowing because the people who need it most are often given the least clear information about what it costs.
What we write about
- Payday Loan Basics: what payday and car title loans really cost, and how state laws differ.
- Cheaper Alternatives: credit union and bank small-dollar loans, early pay apps and help with bills.
- Your Rights: the Military Lending Act, stopping withdrawals, debt collection rules and scams.
Where the numbers come from
Costs, limits and rules in our guides come from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, the National Credit Union Administration, the Department of Defense's Military Lending Act rule and state laws and regulators. Where a figure comes from a study, we say which one and when. We use AI tools to help research and draft, and every guide is checked against those sources before it's published.
Who pays for this site
No lender, broker or collection agency pays us, and we don't run ads or use affiliate links. That's deliberate: in this industry, "reviews" are often paid placements.
